Camping at Le Mans 2013

2013 will see the 90th anniversary of the Le Mans 24 Hours and we are pleased that 1000s of people have already booked to visit Le Mans next year with Travel Destinations.

Although camping is not the only alternative for spectators at Le Mans it is by far the most popular, but developments at the circuit are putting pressure on the availability of some of the traditionally more popular campsites at Le Mans.

The diggers and bulldozers are already working on the area that has previously hosted the campsite called “Karting Nord”. This is part of the ACO development of the exisiting “Alain Prost Karting Circuit” to create a world class karting arena, which will become part of international karting championships as well as host the 24 Hours of karting.

The Karting Nord campsite was home to 670 camping pitches used during the Le Mans 24 Hours and all these temporary residents have now been displaced. As we pre-warned our customers camping at Karting Nord in 2012, many of these people have now chosen new campsite locations.

This displacement is increasing the demand for already popular ACO run campsites such as Maison Blanche, Houx and Tertre Rouge at the North end of the circuit and also for space on our private trackside campsite on the Porsche Curves.

With this in mind we are actively encouraging everyone to book and reserve their camping spaces for the Le Mans 24 Hours 2013 as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. People who traditionally book for Le Mans in the Spring may not get their preferred locations.

Always remember that it is important to book your Le Mans tickets only through “Le Mans Official Agencies” and where Travel is included you should ask whether you are covered by ABTA bonding. Of course Travel Destinations are both ABTA and ATOL bonded as well as being an offical agency for the Le Mans 24 Hours.
