Le Mans 2011: Don’t miss out!

With 56 cars gaining confirmed entry for the Le Mans 24 Hours 2011 last week, we are pleased to report that travel and ticket bookings through Travel Destinations for the Le Mans 2011 are equally strong.

Already thousands of people have chosen Travel Destinations to look after all their Le Mans 2011 requirements from channel crossings and entrance tickets to camping permits and hotel rooms. Karen from Travel Destinations confirmed “Booking numbers for this year’s Le Mans 24 hours are very strong. From campsites like Karting Nord and Houx to our Flexotel village there is a great demand for everything Le Mans!”. With availability for Le Mans tickets decreasing everyday the message is clear “Don’t wait, book now!”.

On-circuit camping: This is always the most popular way of getting the most from the annual Le Mans experience. Facilities may be relatively basic, but there is no better way to see the race. There are a variety of public campsites available at the track as well as the last few places at Travel Destinations’ own private tracksite campsite. Campsites such as Maison Blanche and Houx are nearly full, but there is still some camping space at Karting Nord, Blue Sud, Blue Nord, Houx Annexe and Tertre Rouge.

On-circuit cabins: The new-look “Flexotel Village” is proving very popular this year. The new location at Antares means that all the important locations, such as the start/finish, paddock, Le Mans village and the tram terminus are all within just a few minutes walk, and for those that don’t want to camp the Flexotel cabins are the perfect answer. Providing a lockable room in a secure fenced area in the centre of the track is making these rooms a popular choice for teams, sponsors and spectators.

Off-circuit camping: There are various campsites away from the circuit that are able to provide a quieter and more relaxed environment. For those not wishign to experience the “Glastonbury” feel of the on-circuit campsites these provide the ideal solution. Campsites such as Relais de Cailleres and Pont Romain are on the outskirts of Le Mans town giving residents a short journey to both the centre of town and the circuit itself. The campsite at the Chateau D’Eporce is slightly further away, but is always popular as it provides superior facilities for campers including breakfast each morning and a bus transfer to the circuit.

Hotel and chateaux rooms: Hotel rooms around Le Mans are always over-subscribed and finding availability is difficult. There are some rooms at the Hotel Novotel available for those planning to stay a few nights around the race weekend, and the for those happy to drive in to the circuit, reserving a bedroom within the Chateau Rive Sarthe located 30 minutes from the circuit, provides excellent value. However rooms are limited so it is important to book your place early.
