Will you be missing the Le Mans Classic?

After the success of the Le Mans Classic in 2012, historic motorsport fans will already be making their plans for 2013. Although the “Le Mans Legends” race, before the Le Mans 24 Hours in June 2013, will feature cars from 1949 – 1965, the full Le Mans Classic will not return until July 2014. However, there are plenty of other opportunities to watch historic motor racing at other circuits throughout 2013. We take a look at a few of the best on offer:

Spa Classic, 24th – 26th May 2013
Watching classic car racing on the historic Spa-Francorchamps circuit is very rewarding. Group C cars roaring through Eau Rouge and 1960’s Endurance racers competing through the Bus Stop Chicane are obvious highlights. Spa Classic is organised by the same team that runs the Le Mans Classic so you know the quality on show is going to be high, and there is an opportunity to drive your classic on the circuit too. This event is going to grow and grow. Special offers are available for the Spa Classic here.

Spa Classic

Silverstone Classic, 26th – 28th July 2013
The Silverstone Classic continues to offer a family friendly event with classic motor racing on the circuit and rock legends performing classic music off it. Around 7000 cars form car club displays on the infield providing plenty to browse around view. We recommend taking a great value for money hospitality offer on the Saturday or Sunday to get away from the crowds. Follow this link for more details on the hospitality offer.

AvD Oldtimer Grand Prix, Nurburgring, 9th – 11th August 2013
Pre-war cars right through to touring cars of the 1980’s take to the Nurburgring for the Oldtimer Grand Prix. Using a combination of the Nordschleife and the F1 circuit over the three days provides some spectacular racing that is not to be missed. Camping and hotel options provide everyone with a chance to enjoy the action at this German classic.

Circuit des Remparts, Angouleme, 20th – 22nd September 2013
Each year the French town of Angouleme gives itself over to a celebration of historic motoring. Whether you enjoy concourse competitions, want to participate in scenic drives or watch the historic motor racing around a very tight street circuit, then there is something for you at the Circuit des Remparts weekend. More information about the Circuit des Remparts is available here.

Spa Six Hours, 20th – 22nd September 2013
Don’t be put off by the title, the Spa Six Hours is a full weekend of historic motor racing. If you like getting up close to the machinery then this event is for you, as you are free to walk the paddocks and garages, talk to the drivers & mechanics and even watch from the pit lane as the cars battle on this beautiful circuit. The six hour endurance race on the Saturday evening may be the highlight, but there is plenty more action to see at this accessible event.
